5 Parsecs with BGHD rules

Captain Jorren Vey and the crew of the Knight Hawk took another contract from their patron to eliminate a group of roid gangers that were causing trouble in a run down industrial park.

With KT and Talo still in sick bay, Jorren led the other four members of the crew into the attack. Rax and Silas took positions on the hill where they could cover the center with their rifle and rate gun respectively. Jorren led Mira and the new kid, Daro, into the center.

Five enemy soon advanced to stop them, all armed with street sweepers. They would need to get in close to have any chance against the crew, but there was plenty of cover for a quick rush.

It is a quick battle, Mira goes down and Daro is wounded but the gangers are defeated. Mira's wound turns out to be not as bad as they feared, but she will be down for a few days.

5 Parsecs from home and Galactic Heroes

I started a new 5 Parsecs from Home campaign using a the 5PFH campaign generation rules but using the Galactic Heroes (a Fist Full of Lead variant) rules with the activation system from Combat Patrol. Worked very well.

My six crew members were hired to get a data disc past the security troops at the border of an exclusion zone. I though we would walk right through outnumbering the guards 6 to 3.

Putting Rax on the second floor with her hunting rifle, Captain Jorren led the others in a skirmish line to make their way through the border. The guards proved to be excellent shots and fighters, cutting down 4 of the crew. Rax shot down the enemy leader, and Jorren took out one trooper after a see-saw fight on the cliff. The pair finally sprinted past the last guard to accomplish the mission.

Most of the wounds proved to be minor, with Kragh and Talo being in the med bay for a week and the others back in action. We even picked up a new recruit.

Mission: get the data disc through this border zone

Making a break for it ends with two crew caught in the open and gunned down

The plan starts to fall apart

Kragh gets taken down in hand to hand

Casualties mount

The battle develops on the cliff

Sniper!

Jorren gets the advantage

Firefight

Take that!

Let's go!

Victory...but at what cost?

April 2024

Nice work in the hobby in April.

Great Star Wars game at the club with a guest host that made up a ton of terrain for his campaign. Used the very interesting Star Wars RPG (Genesys system) with special dice. Accomplished the objective on the last roll of the dice.

Finished the first wave of sci fi Quar figures...about a half company plus for each force. The 2nd wave are on the way...54 more figures.

While I wait, I primed 19 more Burrows and Badgers figures. Will get the next kickstarter in July and paint them up this year. Working my way through the backlog.

February 2024

Could not make the club game this month.

I made two of my planned purchases for the year....the release of the 28mm plastic Quar sci-fi figures, and the next Burrows and Badgers kickstarter.

Finished the third of my four primed groups of figures...the sci-fi figures. Next up are the last B&B kickstarter...then the Quar that are on the way.

I have a VBCW game set on on the table for a test run of Chain of Command.

January 2022

A nice start to the year despite the COVID resurgence and three snow storms.

Played a game of 5 parsecs from Home with the plastic figures I received for Christmas. Fun game, but I am not sold on the combat system...but the campaign engine makes for great backstory. I am very interested in the 7TV series of skirmish games and may give one a try.

Painted 49 horses and 19 riders (credit this month for 19 complete) of the Slaughterloo Dogmen figures.

No club game this month, snowed out. We will be finishing a 1939 Bolt Action campaign game next month.

Started organizing the force lists for my next Slaughterloo inspired campaign. I am making a map using a computer game scenario editor...but will play out on the tabletop.

I will base them when I finish the next batch.

Next up--- 3 more cav units and 6 officers.

I will need to get some bases and paints...and I may try the Army Painter speed paints...some of my contrast paints are almost empty.

January in progress...

Good start for the month....working on 49 horses (I hate painting horses) for my Slaughterloo armies, and played a game of 5 Parsecs from home with some plastic figures I put together over Christmas.
