January 2022

A nice start to the year despite the COVID resurgence and three snow storms.

Played a game of 5 parsecs from Home with the plastic figures I received for Christmas. Fun game, but I am not sold on the combat system...but the campaign engine makes for great backstory. I am very interested in the 7TV series of skirmish games and may give one a try.

Painted 49 horses and 19 riders (credit this month for 19 complete) of the Slaughterloo Dogmen figures.

No club game this month, snowed out. We will be finishing a 1939 Bolt Action campaign game next month.

Started organizing the force lists for my next Slaughterloo inspired campaign. I am making a map using a computer game scenario editor...but will play out on the tabletop.

I will base them when I finish the next batch.

Next up--- 3 more cav units and 6 officers.

December 2021, end of year roll up

The end of a rough year. Filled lots of the time with painting, but not as many games as I should have played this year. The big Spring sell off generated a pile of cash...and I did not spend it all. That should fund the next two years at least.

Slaughterloo figures will be the focus again in 2022...three forces still to work through.

I have now painted all of the Burrows and Badgers figures for two warbands, and all possible figures needed for the Warren Percy Affair campaign book.

November 2021 ---- and Burrows and Badgers campaign scenario #1

13 Years in the hobby and going strong. Disappointed to not make Historicon but blocking out time for the Summer.

Prepped/primed a large number of Slaughterloo figures to take me through the Winter.

Ready for December

Completed in November

1st game of Burrows andBadgers

A target competition

Sinjon Stinkwater's band is very aggressive.

Guard mouse takes action.

It is a close match.

The Dog, Sir Barkley,  steals the show.

Demelza the Fox sneaks in a shot for the win.

The magic duel is over quickly, Tug McCaw the Raven comes out on top.

Sir Barkley drops Sinjon in single combat.

What will happen next in "The Warren Percy Affair?"

Carnage and Glory - Slaughterloo

I did a play test of the Carnage and Glory II computer moderated rules with my Slaughterloo figures, including the recently completed British (Orcs). A large division on each side, using 2/3s of my table.

Field of Battle is my go to game, but I thought I would try C&G again since they have a new campaign module.

Fun game, fast paced (after building the army lists on the computer), rules started to come back to me. Move distances seem a little big and my large sized units (base sizes) seemed to clutter things more than FOB.

Jury is still out if I will try a full campaign with them. It is interesting to think about how the battles would string together and see the armies start to disintegrate from losses and campaign consumption.

October 2021

No additional complete figures this month, but I did prime/prep enough figures that should take me through March.

14 Inf units, 6 Cav, 2 Art and some leaders all from the various dog factions in the Slaughterloo range, and 28 Burrows and Badgers figure (everything to play through the 1st campaign supplement).

I won't be at Historicon, very disappointed.
