September 2021
Crazy work schedule interrupted most of the hobby time for the month. Some basing, initial work on B&B figures, and prepping for winter painting is all I got done.
Reviewed the Historicon PEL. I am 50/50 for attending right now. I hope work clears up enough that I can take the days as there are some great games I would like to enjoy...highlighted of course by Peter's FOB3 Napoleonics on Sat night.
Historicon is a no go! Military duty trumps hobby time again. Very disappointed.

August 2021
Major accomplishment by being ahead on my painting goal for the year. Big push this month saw another 5 x 18 figure units complete...finishing the Orc/British force for Slaughterloo.
I did not make the club game due to work, and I will miss in September too...hope to be back for October.
I am going to work on 12 Burrows & Badgers figures next...while preparing the Dog Slaughterloo figures. I am breaking that batch into 3 parts to make progress in chunks and maybe interspace with more B&B figs

15mm hex based Fantasy Battle
Played a game of my home brew hex based 15mm fantasy rules. They are loosely based on Command and Colors / Battle Lore with custom dice.
Human kingdom and barbarians vs Orcs/goblins+.
The humans pulled out a victory by taking the hill (uncontested) and destroying enough enemy units. The Orcs were 1 base away from winning by destroying a whole command and enough units. Final score...9 to 4.
I will make some rules edits based on the battle and then they are playable minus refined rules for leaders/characters, and magic.

June 2021
Half way through the year. Good painting progress, OK on the game front, and the big sell off will help for the next two years on the fiscal front.
Waiting on my Burrows and Badgers order to arrive. I will then intersperse painting them with the large Slaughterloo project.
Goals for rest of the year:
1) finish 180 Slaughterloo infantry
2) paint two B&B warbands (20 figures?)
3) put together remaining card terrain
4) attend Historicon
5) Keep spending <$600 plus Historicon costs
6) Play 4 games plus Historicon

6- 15mm Fantasy: Huge load of lead in the bin, time for a game. Still tinkering with my rules.

A VBCW game
AVBCW game using the Combat Patrol card driven rules.
The BUF presence in the area has grown unacceptable. The River Otter Valley Local Defense Brigade (ROVLDB) decides to take action.
"Red" Kate and her bands of ill trained socialists will pin down the enemy while Lady Otterford leads her chosen troops around the flank along the hedge lined drainage ditch. They hope to 1) eliminate the BUF machinegun position in the old Roman ruins, 2) ambush any reinforcements coming from the north, and 3) take some prisoners they can use to exchange for some of their own captured friends.

Lady Otterford's plan worked. They caused heavy BUF casualties, took two prisoners, and scared the survivors even if the MG remained operational. "Red" Kate's troops took some losses, but they held in the face heavy fire.
