Quar battle report with Battleground HD rules

A solo battle with the Quar figures using the BattleGround HD rules. Good fun, some changes to the activation mechanic to improve solo play.

A Coftyran Ryfler section with some support was patrolling the countryside near the Old Bereton Farm with the company Caerten joining the troops to improve morale. Meanwhile, a Crusader section with their own supports and Caerten are headed to the farm to sample some of Farmer Bereton's famous Lingonberry hooch.

One squad from each force started the meeting engagement with the rest following on in support.

From the Crusader side

Hooch still out back, and young Byron tending the flock

Coftyrans advanced up the road next to the farmhouse

In a sudden fusillade, the Coftyrans came out ahead in the initial exchange of fire

Crusader casualties mounted, brave Rhyflers dragging their wounded comrades to safety

The second Coftyran squad moves up when they hear the firing

Despite losing one Quar, these two brave troopers dropped prone and poured on the return fire

With great effect

A team of Crusader trench raiders tried to sneak around the flank

But they were caught in the open

A Crusader fire team takes up position to riddle the farmhouse with fire

And some more Coftyran troops are hit

The fire on this flank send one Crusader running for cover

Crusader reinforcements make their way forward

The flank attack fails with all three raiders KIA

In the center, the battle rages

The farmhouse is a slaughterhouse, the Bereton's are hit!

Crusader squad starts to cross the open ground, thinking it is safe

While the is-Caerten tries to reorganize the troops on this flank

The Coftyran machinegun team sets up on the hill

And starts to lay down grazing fire

The attck has faltered on this flank

But the Coftyran casualties are almost as bad

Crusaders pull out leaving the Coftyrans to count heads

The farmhouse is a mess, but the hooch is still drinkable
