Historicon 2018

Just back from Historicon at the Host in Lancaster PA. The facility is under renovation...construction all around. My room was just fine, facilities in general will need lots more work. Food options very poor...but there are plenty of places close by. Looking forward to seeing the event in a new location next year.

I played in 6 games. I missed the one I was most looking forward to due to a late work call...very disappointed. My apologies to Peter.

I managed to pick up an extra game of Combat Patrol the next day to make up for it.

I met Richard Clarke of Too Fat Lardies fame...nice chatting with him during a Sharpe Practice game.

I overspent...getting into a new project will do that. Bought lots of figures for Very British Civil War...and ordered what I could not find online. I also picked up some Plasticville buildings cheap at the flea market.

Good fun all around.

Peter Anderson's Campaign in a Day using Snappy Nappy. My Spanish took a heavy pounding but I kept Ney from influencing the main battles...earning us a decisive victory.

The campaign took place over 12 tables.

Zama using Commands and Colors...my Cathaginians repeated history with a defeat.

A F&I War game with Sharp Practice...on a very nice table. Very fun game with a great GM. The English kept the French from escaping the table...but Rodger's Rangers under-performed.

1940 BEF vs Germans using Combat Patrol...my Germans took heavy casualties and the Matildas made short work of our Pz38s. Fort got to take a picture of the next game...same table and scenario but with the French taking the German role. I played the French and lost again!

Third version of the same battle...this time with Star Wars figures. I played with the droid side and we clobbered the clones. ObiWan was heavily wounded, and then killed by a droid tank.

Plasticville buildings...will make a good town filled with zombies.

AVBCW figures...many more on the way.
